Spaghetti Bolognese

Ingredients
Bolognese Sauce
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 carrot diced
- 1 celery stalk diced
- 500 g ground beef
- 1 cup red wine
- 1 can crushed tomatoes (400g)
- 2 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 cup beef broth
- to taste salt and pepper
Spaghetti
- 400 g spaghetti
- to taste Parmesan cheese grated, for serving
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, garlic, carrot, and celery, and cook until softened.
- Add the ground beef to the pot and cook until browned.
- Pour in the red wine and let it simmer until it has mostly evaporated.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, dried basil, and beef broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
- Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Serve the Bolognese sauce over the cooked spaghetti and garnish with grated Parmesan cheese.
