- 4 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 tablespoon Active dry yeast
- 1.5 cups Warm water
- 1 cup Milk
- 2 tablespoon Butter melted
- 1 cup Cornmeal for dusting
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
2. Add warm water, milk, and melted butter. Mix until a dough forms.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
5. Punch down the dough and roll it out to about ½ inch thickness. Cut into rounds using a biscuit cutter.
6. Dust each round with cornmeal and let rise for another 30 minutes.
7. Heat a griddle over medium heat. Cook the muffins for about 7-10 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
