Ingredients

Dough

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Warm water
  • 2.25 teaspoon Active dry yeast
  • 0.25 cup Honey
  • 2 Eggs large
  • 0.25 cup Vegetable oil
  • 1.5 teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. 2. Add honey, eggs, oil, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
  3. 3. Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, until a dough forms. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. 4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. 5. Punch down the dough and divide it into three equal parts. Roll each part into a long rope and braid them together.
  6. 6. Place the braided dough on a greased baking sheet, cover, and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  7. 7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. 8. Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
