Ingredients 

Cake Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¼ cups unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk

Frosting Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2-4 tablespoon heavy cream

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool completely.
  6. For the frosting, beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, beating until smooth. Mix in vanilla and enough cream to reach desired consistency.
  7. Spread frosting over cooled cake. Serve and enjoy.
