Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped
  • cup milk
  • 1 large egg beaten

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gently fold in the tomatoes and basil.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk and beaten egg.
  6. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  7. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and shape into a circle about 1-inch thick. Cut into 8 wedges.
  8. Place the wedges on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
