A classic Italian dessert with layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone cheese.

Main Ingredients
- 6 large egg yolks
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 ½ cup heavy cream
- 2 cups brewed espresso, cooled
- ¼ cup coffee liqueur
- 1 package ladyfingers
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 ounce dark chocolate, for shaving
In a mixing bowl, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until thick and pale.
Add mascarpone cheese to the egg mixture and mix until smooth.
In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
Combine the cooled espresso and coffee liqueur in a shallow dish. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture.
Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a baking dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and shave dark chocolate over it.
