  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3 bananas)
  • 0.5 cup sour cream

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Beat in the flour mixture alternately with the mashed bananas and sour cream.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  6. Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  7. Let cake cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
