6. In a large pot, bring 8 cups of water and baking soda to a boil.
7. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.
8. Carefully drop each dough ball into the boiling water for 30 seconds. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on the prepared baking sheet.
9. Brush each roll with the beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse salt.
10. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool before serving.
