Ingredients

  • 1 cup grits
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add grits and cook according to package instructions.
  2. 2. Stir in butter and cheese into the grits. Keep warm.
  3. 3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
  4. 4. Add shrimp and paprika. Cook until shrimp are pink and cooked through.
  5. 5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve shrimp over grits.
