- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup cold butter cut into small pieces
- ⅔ cup milk
- 1 egg beaten
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir in milk and beaten egg until just combined.
Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead gently.
Pat dough into a circle about 1-inch thick and cut into wedges.
Place wedges on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
