Sausage And Herb Stuffing With Apples Recipe

Main Ingredients
- 1 lb Italian sausage casings removed
- 1 large onion chopped
- 2 celery stalks chopped
- 2 apples peeled, cored, and chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh sage chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme chopped
- 8 cups bread cubes day-old
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 egg beaten
- to taste salt and pepper
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, sauté onion and celery until softened. Add apples and cook for a few more minutes.
Mix in sage, rosemary, and thyme. Remove from heat.
In a large bowl, combine bread cubes, sausage, and apple mixture. Add chicken broth and beaten egg. Mix well.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Transfer to a baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, until top is golden brown.
