Ingredients 

Starter

  • 1 cup Cornmeal
  • 1 cup Milk scalded
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar

Dough

  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Water warm

Instructions 

  1. Mix cornmeal, scalded milk, and sugar in a bowl. Cover and let sit in a warm place for 8-12 hours.
  2. Once the starter is bubbly, mix in flour, salt, and warm water to form a dough.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth. Place in a greased loaf pan and let rise until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Let cool before slicing. Enjoy!
