Ingredients 

Dough

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Filling

  • 1 cup raspberry jam
  • ¼ cup sugar

Instructions 

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually add flour and knead until smooth.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread raspberry jam and sprinkle sugar evenly over the dough.
  5. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut it lengthwise. Twist the two halves together and place on a baking sheet.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
