Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup baking soda
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Coarse salt (for sprinkling)

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. Mix warm water and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Add salt, sugar, and flour. Mix until dough forms.
  4. Knead dough for 5 minutes. Let it rise for 10 minutes.
  5. Divide dough into small pieces. Roll into nuggets.
  6. Boil water and add baking soda. Dip nuggets in water for 30 seconds.
  7. Place nuggets on a baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse salt.
  8. Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
