Main Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup poppy seeds
- ½ cup cold butter, cubed
- ⅔ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and poppy seeds.
Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until just combined.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently until it comes together.
Pat the dough into a circle about 1-inch thick and cut into 8 wedges.
Place the wedges on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
Let cool slightly before serving.
