Ingredients 

Cookies

  • 1 cup Butter softened
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Eggs large
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoon Salt

Frosting

  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • ½ cup Butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon Peppermint Extract
  • 2 tablespoon Milk
  • ¼ cup Crushed Peppermint Candies

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10 minutes, then let cool on a wire rack.
  8. For the frosting, beat together powdered sugar, butter, peppermint extract, and milk until smooth.
  9. Frost the cooled cookies and sprinkle with crushed peppermint candies.
