Ingredients 

Cookie Dough

  • 1 cup Butter softened
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup Pecans chopped
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 large Egg

Brown Butter Icing

  • ½ cup Butter browned
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped pecans.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Let cool on a wire rack.
  8. For the icing, brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  9. In a bowl, whisk together the browned butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  10. Spread the icing over the cooled cookies.
