Brownie Layer
- 1 cup unsalted butter melted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon salt
Pecan Pie Layer
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup brown sugar packed
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
- 2 cups pecan halves
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter and granulated sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture, stirring until well combined. Pour into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
In a separate bowl, mix together corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth. Stir in pecan halves. Pour over the brownie layer in the baking pan.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the pecan pie layer is set and a toothpick inserted into the brownie layer comes out clean. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
