Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup molasses

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and molasses, and mix well.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until edges are set. Cool on wire racks.
