Maple Walnut Tart

Crust
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsalted butter cold, cut into cubes
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tablespoon cold water
Filling
- 1 cup maple syrup
- ½ cup brown sugar packed
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup walnuts chopped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add egg yolk and cold water, mix until the dough comes together. Press into a tart pan.
In another bowl, whisk together maple syrup, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Stir in walnuts.
Pour filling into the crust. Bake for 45 minutes or until set.
Let cool before serving.
