Ingredients 

Base

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup brown sugar packed
  • ½ cup butter cold, cubed

Filling

  • cup maple syrup
  • ½ cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tablespoon butter melted
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup pecans chopped

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and brown sugar. Cut in the cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press into the prepared pan.
  3. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven and set aside.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together maple syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, beaten eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth. Stir in chopped pecans.
  5. Pour the filling over the baked crust. Bake for an additional 20-25 minutes or until set.
  6. Allow to cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.
