Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour and baking powder. Add to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk, beating well after each addition.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
