Instructions 

  1. Preheat your skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, and egg.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into the preheated skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 10 minutes per side.
  6. Serve warm.
