Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 packet Active dry yeast
  • 1.5 cups Warm water

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water, then stir in yeast. Allow to proof until yeast resembles a creamy foam.
  2. 2. Mix in flour, salt, and olive oil. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth.
  3. 3. Place dough in a well-oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and allow to rise until doubled in volume, about 1 hour.
  4. 4. Punch down the dough, knead for a few minutes, and shape into a loaf. Place on a baking sheet and allow to rise for 30 minutes.
  5. 5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 30 minutes or until the bread is golden brown.
