  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 cups buttermilk

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and brown sugar.
  3. Make a well in the center and pour in the buttermilk. Stir until just combined.
  4. Transfer the dough to the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
