Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter cold and cubed
  • 6 apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 egg beaten, for egg wash

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Roll out half of the dough and fit it into a pie dish. Add the sliced apples, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Roll out the remaining dough and place it over the apples. Seal the edges and cut a few slits in the top crust.
  5. Brush the top crust with the beaten egg.
  6. Bake for 50 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  7. Let the pie cool before serving.
