4. Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
6. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place in a greased loaf pan.
7. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 40 minutes or until golden brown.
9. Remove from pan and cool on a wire rack.
