Ingredients 

Cake

  • 6 cups All-purpose flour
  • 3 cups Sugar
  • 2 cups Butter softened
  • 8 Eggs
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 2 tablespoon Vanilla extract

Buttercream Frosting

  • 4 cups Butter softened
  • 8 cups Powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Vanilla extract
  • 4 tablespoon Milk

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  3. Combine the flour and baking powder, add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Finally stir in the milk until the batter is smooth. Pour or spoon batter into the prepared pans.
  4. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven. Cake is done when it springs back to the touch.
  5. For the frosting, cream the butter until smooth and fluffy. Gradually beat in the powdered sugar until fully incorporated. Add vanilla extract and milk, and beat until the frosting is light and fluffy.
  6. Once the cakes are cool, frost and stack them to create the tiers. Decorate as desired.
