Pizza Dough Ingredients
- 2 ¼ teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1 ½ cups warm water
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
1. In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
2. Add the flour, olive oil, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until the dough begins to come together.
3. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
5. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Punch down the dough and divide it into two equal pieces. Roll out each piece on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
6. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Add your favorite toppings and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
