Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 can Crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried basil
  • 1 pinch Red pepper flakes optional
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar optional

Instructions 

  1. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add sugar if desired.
  6. Simmer on low heat for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Serve hot over pasta or use as a base for other dishes.
