Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 large Egg
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • as needed Oil for frying
  • as needed Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions 

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, mix the milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, whisking until smooth.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Pour the batter into a funnel, covering the bottom opening with your finger. Release the batter into the hot oil in a circular motion.
  6. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove with tongs and drain on paper towels.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.
