Frosted Sugar Cookie Bars Recipe

Cookie Base
- 1 cup Butter softened
- 1 cup Granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 2 Eggs
- 2.5 cups All-purpose flour
- 0.5 teaspoon Baking powder
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt
Frosting
- 0.5 cup Butter softened
- 2 cups Powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoon Milk
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 0.25 cup Sprinkles optional
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Let cool completely in the pan.
For the frosting, beat the butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, beating until smooth and fluffy. Spread the frosting over the cooled cookie bars. Add sprinkles if desired.
Cut into bars and serve.
