Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups peeled and chopped pears

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in pears.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
