Ingredients 

Macaron Shells

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 units egg whites room temperature
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Sift almond flour and powdered sugar together. Set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat egg whites until foamy. Gradually add granulated sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
  4. Fold in almond flour mixture, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  5. Transfer batter to a piping bag and pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Tap the baking sheet on the counter to release air bubbles. Let sit for 30 minutes to form a skin.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes. Let cool completely before removing from parchment paper.
