Ingredients 

Crust

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter cold, cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3 tablespoons cold water

Filling

  • 8 whole fresh figs halved
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add cold water and mix until dough forms.
  3. Press the dough into a tart pan. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Let it cool.
  4. In another bowl, mix ricotta cheese, honey, and vanilla extract. Spread the mixture over the cooled crust.
  5. Arrange the fig halves on top of the ricotta mixture. Drizzle with additional honey if desired.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
