Main Ingredients
- 1 cup Chopped Dates
- 1 cup Boiling Water
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- ½ cup Butter softened
- 1 cup Sugar
- 2 Eggs beaten
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 ½ cups All-Purpose Flour
- ½ cup Chopped Nuts walnuts or pecans
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
In a bowl, combine chopped dates, boiling water, and baking soda. Let it sit while you prepare the other ingredients.
In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the beaten eggs and vanilla extract, and mix well.
Gradually add the flour to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined. Stir in the date mixture and chopped nuts.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for about 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
