Main Ingredients
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- 1 ¼ cups Warm milk
- ½ cup Warm water
- 1 teaspoon Active dry yeast
1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder.
2. In another bowl, mix warm milk, warm water, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until smooth.
4. Cover the bowl with a towel and let the batter rest for 30 minutes.
5. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and grease the crumpet rings.
6. Pour batter into the rings and cook for about 5 minutes until bubbles form on the surface.
7. Remove the rings and flip the crumpets to cook the other side for 2-3 minutes.
8. Serve warm with butter and jam.
