Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Warm milk
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Active dry yeast
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter cold

Instructions 

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth. Let it rest for 1 hour.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread cold butter over two-thirds of the dough. Fold the dough into thirds.
  5. Roll out the dough again and fold into thirds. Repeat this process 2 more times. Let the dough rest for 1 hour.
  6. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan. Let it rise for 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the loaf for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Let the loaf cool before slicing. Enjoy!
