Ingredients 

Banana Bread

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed

Cream Cheese Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until combined. Add eggs, vanilla, and sour cream. Stir in mashed bananas.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Pour half of the banana bread batter into the loaf pan. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on top. Pour the remaining banana bread batter over the cream cheese layer.
  7. Bake for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
