Classic Margherita Pizza
This Margherita pizza recipe is a true classic, with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil leaves on a delicious homemade crust.

Pizza Dough
- 1 cup water lukewarm
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Pizza Toppings
- tomato sauce preferably homemade
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese sliced
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves
- 2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
Combine the water, yeast and sugar in a bowl. Rest for 5 minutes.
Combine the flour and salt.
Add the yeast mixture and knead until you get a soft ball.
Place in a bowl and cover. Let rise for 30 minutes.
Divide the dough and form pizzas.
Top the pizzas with tomato sauce, mozzarella slices, and fresh basil leaves. Drizzle with olive oil.
Cook for 15 minutes on the pizza stone.
