Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 ¼ teaspoon active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup warm water
  • ½ cup milk warmed
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup butter melted
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Filling

  • ½ cup butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. 1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and let stand until frothy, about 10 minutes.
  2. 2. In a large bowl, combine the milk, sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and mix well.
  3. 3. Gradually add flour to the mixture, one cup at a time, until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  4. 4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. 5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface into a large rectangle.
  6. 6. Spread the softened butter over the dough. Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle evenly over the butter.
  7. 7. Roll the dough up tightly, starting from the long side, to form a log. Cut the log into 1-inch slices.
  8. 8. Arrange the slices in a circular pattern on a greased baking sheet, forming a wreath shape. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. 9. Let the wreath cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
