Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup stout beer
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add stout beer and stir.
  3. Remove from heat, add sugar and cocoa powder. Mix well.
  4. Add vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in flour and salt until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cool before cutting into squares.
