Ingredients 

Hand Pie Ingredients

  • 2 cups Cherries pitted and halved
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Almond extract
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 package Pie crust store-bought or homemade
  • 1 unit Egg beaten, for egg wash

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cherries, sugar, almond extract, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  3. Roll out the pie crust and cut into 8 equal rectangles.
  4. Place a spoonful of the cherry mixture onto one half of each rectangle. Fold over and seal the edges with a fork.
  5. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  6. Place the hand pies on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.
