Ingredients

  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 6 tablespoon Butter cut into pieces
  • ½ cup Heavy Cream at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt

Instructions 

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon.
  2. Once the sugar is completely melted, add the butter. Be careful as the mixture will bubble rapidly.
  3. Stir the butter into the caramel until it is completely melted, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Slowly drizzle in the heavy cream while stirring. The mixture will bubble up again. Allow the mixture to boil for 1 minute.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt. Let cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a jar to cool completely.
