Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup caramel sauce

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  3. Beat in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder. Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan.
  4. Drizzle caramel sauce over the batter. Spread remaining batter over the caramel layer.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes. Let cool before cutting into squares.
