  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter 1 stick
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. In a saucepan, combine buttermilk, sugar, butter, and corn syrup. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  2. Once boiling, remove from heat and whisk in baking soda and vanilla extract. The syrup will foam up.
  3. Let the foam settle down a bit before serving. Serve warm over pancakes or waffles.
