- 2 cups water
- ½ cup dark brown sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter cut into pieces
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ⅔ cup dark rum
1. In a saucepan, combine water, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the butter is melted and the mixture is well combined.
2. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and rum.
3. Pour into mugs and serve warm.
