Ingredients 

Biscuits

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup cold butter cut into small pieces
  • ¾ cup milk

Gravy

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt to taste

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk until just combined. Drop dough onto a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually whisk in milk. Cook until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Serve gravy over split biscuits.
