Instructions
Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Gradually add milk, stirring until dough pulls away from the side of the bowl.
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently 8-10 times.
Pat or roll dough out to 1-inch thickness. Cut with a floured biscuit cutter.
Place biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
