Ingredients

  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon yeast active dry
  • 1.5 cups warm water

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. 2. Gradually add the warm water and mix until a dough forms.
  3. 3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. 4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  5. 5. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. 6. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball. Poke a hole in the center of each ball to form a bagel shape.
  7. 7. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Boil each bagel for 1-2 minutes on each side.
  8. 8. Place the boiled bagels on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
